Champion ESL Sites
My job has been saved by a number of fantastic websites over the last year. I cannot thank them enough! Some of the activities from these sites have become favorites, and I’ve linked to many of them on this site. Here are the Champion Sites:
GenkiEnglish
A great place for ideas, articles, and inspiration.
Dave’s ESL Cafe
More ideas than you can throw in a bucket.
Boggles World, aka Lanternfish
A fantastic, easy-to-use website with printable worksheets and fully planned lessons, geared towards all ages.
The Internet TESL Journal
I couldn’t have survived a year of teaching English in Japan without this site. If you teach English, go to this site.
Three Wise Monkeys
A site developed and maintained by a group of ALT’s (assistant language teachers) in the Japanese public school system. Well-categorized, the site has a wealth of fun activities to get the students going.
Karin’s ESL Partyland
A great resource for all ages. As Karin puts it “The Cool Way to Learn English”
ESL Flow
A wealth of lesson plans and ideas categorized well, although extensively. This site takes a little time to get around in, but is usually well worth it.
Here is a good good link for anyone who is interested in seeing how ESL programs and curriculum are being developed at international schools. http://lallison.wordpress.com/
some other amazing ESL websites include;
http://www.jhsenglipediaproject.com (perfect if you work in Japan)
http://eslclips.com (great if you want to work with technology)
http://www.eslprintables.com (a vast amount of plans. The only problem with this one is, you have to submit lessons in order to gain points to download other teachers lessons.)
http://www.mes-english.com (really good flash cards and games to print out free)
There are so many amazing websites out there. These are just a few which have saved me in Japan.
I also use some of the websites you have posted.
You have nicely documented blog there. I look forward to checking out some of your ideas.
Thanks for sharing
sorry the eslclips link is wrong. The correct link is http://www.teflclips.com (Youtube based lessons by Jamie Keddie)
